Murrayfield Stadium, home to the UK Six Nation Rugby Internationals, is situated in the Costorphine district of Edinburgh, some 3 miles from the city centre and the hotel.

Murrayfield has been the home of Scottish rugby since it first opened in 1925 and it was continually developed over the course of the next sixty years until it reached its present status as the largest and most impressive stadium in Scotland. It provides state-of-the-art facilities for some 67,500 fans although this is some way short of the stadium record set in 1975 when 104,000 watched Scotland defeat Wales in a Five Nations match.

And while it's primarily a rugby stadium, Murrayfield has also proved to be a popular venue for a diverse range of other events including pop concerts, American football, Highland games, lacrosse and hockey matches, and even a youth rally to welcome His Holiness The Pope.
